16 or 19 digit Account numbers?

Card Commerce have recently upgraded their Prepaid platform to allow 19 digit card numbers (as well as 16 digit numbers) thus allowing ease of migration onto our platform for retailers with an existing 19 digit Card program. • The first digit of every card number is the MII (Major Industry Identifier) digit which denotes the specific industry. E.g. a 4 represents Visa, a 5 MasterCard and a 6 or 7 is for merchandising.
• The first six digits of the card number are known as the IIN (issuer identification number), which also includes the MII digit. These digits represent the institution that issues the card to the card holder. 
• After the IIN is the Individual Account Identifier which makes up the rest of the digits on the cards except the last one. The last digit is called the checksum or Validity Check Code.
