Monitoring and managing fraud risk. Made Easy

Card Commerce today announced that it has added a Fraud Monitoring module to Card Manager, its Merchant Portal.  This is the first in a series of exciting new product developments and gives merchants access to functionality and a number of detailed reports that will allow them to identify potentially fraudulent activity related to their gift card programmes.

The available reports include:

• ‘Most Used Cards’ Report – View the top 50 highest transacting cards in the entire issued card estate
• ‘Card Balance Ranking’ Report - View the top 50 cards (by card balance) in the entire issued card estate
• ‘Sales Exception’ Report – View outlets/stores that are significantly above average sales figures for that merchant

Each report can be run for a user defined period and the reports can be downloaded into Excel for further analysis if required.

Commented Paul Gaffney, Service Delivery Director, “In an environment where cards can be activated or topped up by rogue staff, merchants have to be able to protect themselves from the possibility of fraudulent activity.  Our new fraud monitoring solution allows merchants to identify transactions, outstanding balances or store sales that are ‘exceptions to the norm’. This significantly increases the chance of identifying fraud that may be happening in their giftcard programme and gives them the information to be able to take action”.
