....Equal Effective Gift Card Program Management

Running a successful gift card program involves more than simply merchandising and selling your gift cards successfully instore and online. It is vital that your business manages the back office side of the gift card program also with regular (daily/weekly/monthly) monitoring and where necessary, reconciliations of key areas including the following;

• Card Manager allows the super user to give limited access on the portal to designated staff members depending on their areas of responsibility i.e. accounts staff can access the transaction reports to allow them reconcile their monthly invoices or their end of day reports from tills. Sales staff can have access to top up or redeem cards only. The Head office can have functionality to mark cards as lost or stolen if required. The aim of allowing limited access is to ensure that only approved staff have the capability to carry out functions online thus improving ‘segregation of duty’ controls and minimising fraud opportunities.
• The setting of maximum top-up limits on cards will prevent an incorrect or fraudulent amount being loaded onto a card
•  Regular reporting and sign off allows your business to monitor all activity on your gift card programme
