Promotions, Promotions, Promotions!Friday, 16 September 2011 Use a promotion to encourage customer devotionIf you want to encourage customers to visit you more frequently and spend more when they do (and why wouldn’t you?) then using gift cards for promotional campaigns can be extremely effective. Simple promotions like spend £100 in-store and receive a free £10 gift card towards your next visit not only encourages customers to spend more in store but drives increased footfall and the chance of increased spend later.
You can even have promotional cards that have limited expiry to encourage customers to spend them within a certain timeframe e.g. £100 gift card towards your next holiday when you book within the next four weeks. This not only limits your outstanding liability but it encourages customers to shop with you within a defined period, perhaps when business is quieter?
Why not approach key suppliers to secure co-marketing funds? You can then use those funds to drive sales of their products or services, e.g. a free £50 gift card when you purchase any Samsung flat screen TV this weekend (T&C’s apply of course!). They get a sale and you get a happy customer who’ll come back to you to spend that card value and more.
The Card Commerce prepaid platform makes it easy for you to keep track of cards loaded for promotional purposes. Through Card Manager, our Merchant portal, activate single cards or a whole batch of cards for promotional use and manage expiry dates on those cards, limiting expiry to drive customers in-store within a defined period.
So pick up the phone and give us a call to discuss how Promotional cards can help your business.
